Top tune! I used to play this on my old string organ with all the lights off. It would have been nice to have had one of those organs that rose up from the floor.

We also need some more entries - only 6 correct so far!

Samhain is generally celebrated on October 31st, but some traditions prefer November 1st. It is one of the two spirit-nights each year, the other being Beltane. It is a magical interval when the mundane laws of time and space are temporarily suspended, and the Thin Veil between the worlds is lifted. Communicating with ancestors and departed loved ones is easy at this time, for they journey through this world on their way to the Summerlands. It is a time to study the Dark Mysteries and honor the Dark Mother and the Dark Father, symbolized by the Crone and her aged Consort.

Originally the Feast of the Dead was celebrated in Celtic countries by leaving food offerings on altars and doorsteps for the wandering dead. Today a lot of practitioners still carry out that tradition. Single candles were lit and left in a window to help guide the spirits of ancestors and loved ones home. Extra chairs were set to the table and around the hearth for the unseen guest. Apples were buried along roadsides and paths for spirits who were lost or had no descendants to provide for them. Turnips were hollowed out and carved to look like protective spirits, for this was a night of magic and chaos. The Wee Folke became very active, pulling pranks on unsuspecting humans. Traveling after dark was was not advised. People dressed in white, wore disguises made of straw, or dressed as the opposite gender in order to fool the Nature spirits.

This was the time that the cattle and other livestock were slaughtered for eating in the ensuing winter months. Any crops still in the field on Samhain were considered taboo, and left as offerings to the Nature spirits. Bonfires were built, (originally called bone-fires, for after feasting, the bones were thrown in the fire as offerings for healthy and plentiful livestock in the New Year) and stones were marked with peoples names. Then they were thrown into the fire, to be retrieved in the morning. The condition of the retrieved stone foretold of that person's fortune in the coming year. Hearth fires were also lit from the village bonfire to ensure unity, and the ashes were spread over the harvested fields to protect and bless the land.

Not sure what Herne has to do with Samhain but what the hell - he is a ghost.

Sometime a keeper here in Windsor Forest,
Doth all the winter-time, at still midnight,
Walk round about an oak, with great ragg'd horns;
And there he blasts the tree, and takes the cattle,
And makes milch-kine yield blood, and shakes a chain
In a most hideous and dreadful manner.
You have heard of such a spirit, and well you know
The superstitious idle-headed eld
Receiv'd, and did deliver to our age,
This tale of Herne the Hunter for a truth.

Yes, I know all answers, I must remember where I've seen all.

4th is in Doctor Who serie (The Beast, episode about a strange black hole; but I don't remember the Doctor was so dressed).
EDIT: oh, found: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Satan_Pit

5th is the Doom game.

2nd should be the next I remember...

One old and four new

The curfew tolls the knell of parting day,
The lowing herd wind slowly o'er the lea,
The ploughman homeward plods his weary way,
And leaves the world to darkness and to me.

The third image is the beastie from the movie Cloverfield. That's all I got, so I guess I'm not a geek :p arty:

Cloverfield? Oh yes that's it! I remember it and I even didn't see the film yet... I must have seen it on a films thread on another forum some years ago.
The second image is so obvious to me that I still can't remember... An US film from the 90's?
The first image is like some expressionist picture from the 20's.

Number 3 is from Diablo I believe, and number 4 is definitely from Doom.

So far correct are:

Cloverfield, Dr Who: The Satan Pit and Doom.

Looks like we need a few old codgers - the other movies are from 1957 and 1968!

Cheers,
Chris
