Question 10: How can I become an AGEOD beta tester?
You can send your application to Pocus, he is still recruiting highly motivated and active BoA players.
However, be warned,
there is no dullest thing than beta testing.
Betatesting is NOT:
- A job
- Playing to the game before everybody else
- Designing a game
If you are an expert with the BoA game engine
If you are active on this forum
If you have a taste for history and archives research
If you don't mind proofreading dull maps and long list of names...
If you are ready to spend hours testing every possible stupid things a newbee might try without concern for your own pleasure
If you don't mind stopping a good game because you noticed a tiny and painless bug
etc.
Then you might have what it takes...
Once again, if you're not highly motivated, just don't bother. AGEOD developers need people to help them for 2 or 3 monthes periods, not just once or twice.
80% of the first beta team had quit before BoA was released. In fact, 40% just never came back after they realised they were not going to be able to "play" immediately with the game.
Having said this, the atmospere is friendly, you get to know Pocus better (though I don't know if it's a real catching argument?

), and it's an interesting experience. We also tend to specialise, some check historical background stuffs, others love to look for bugs, loopsholes, etc...
You take part in a collective adventure and help to get the game of your dreams about your favorite period (all beta testers names are credited in the game manual).
