Hint if you jumped in to the small Rome v Epirus scenario - and got thrashed in three or four turns several times on Easy setting.

Stay in Rome and buy some troops for a turn or two.

Hooray 1.03 and I finally get a victory as Rome in the Epirus scenario.

OK, it was on easy but I still feel my life has now been worthwhile.
