The new forum's spam defenses are worse than ever.
What the forum needs is some kind of timer on new accounts to prevent people from coming in here and doing this kind of thing.
Perhaps all first posts should be reviewed by a moderator before they are allowed to get posted.

Actually, that's not entirely true... the problem is not that simple sadly.
Yesterday I have banned and deleted all the posts from an account that was created back in 2011... but only YESTERDAY started posting spam during an hour in 10 different subforums.
Even today, some of the accounts that posted spam were created during the last month, not yesterday neither today.
I have no idea why someone will create a "dormant bot" and then start posting like crazy russian links or viagra offers...

It may be a genuine account, but which was hacked (often from badly protected email-box).

I will not say no to you because something like that could happen, but ti didn't look like that was the case really... at least not with that user.
I guess if it was a genuine account, he will contact us again .
Anyway, like I've said in that post, it was not "just an account", there were many cases with "old" accounts posting spam like crazy, not only new accounts created when we uploaded the new forum software.... so, the problem wasn't simple to solve
But, with the new forum software and the new plugins, I think that the forum is running much better now.
