Changing sides and editing the save

Sun Dec 06, 2015 11:52 am

I was wondering if it's possible to change sides during a campaign? I know that technically it's possible, but will the AI cope with the change? Related to that, can I edit the save file (Notepad++?) ? I'd like to change from the Imperial side to the Protestants, but the Protestants don't have any resources despite Sweden just joining the war, so I'd give myself a fighting chance.

I have never done this as when I play solo I play both sides.

I think this is the process. Open the console (if this is a new idea, extend your reply). From the menu you can select the side to be active.

There's no need to even use the console, one can simply load the save file as the other side. But I was wondering if the change would mess with the AI?

AI will be fine. It is generated once all other ords are created, so anything you do prior to running the turn will not impact how AI operates. It will simply pick up all factions for which no player generated ords are made.
