Note: Playing France in the Grand Campaign.
1. Foreign troops under French command.
A). Bavaria has given me command of a few troops, but when I move them, it doesn't display the icon on the new location nor time of movement as it does with my regular units. Is that a glitch?
B). Is there any way to switch elements between the different units of foreign troops?
2. Army/Corps command.
A). I was experimenting with forming armies, and had Berthier (he was 1st in army seniority for army formation) form an army. I then figured I would shift around corps between the Grand Armee and the Armee Allemange (Berthier). In addition to that, I was going to create a few corps, allowing greater flexibility in the formation/composition of the armies. But, when I starting creating corps they all were listed in Berthier's army and I had no option to choose which army to assign them to. I suppose the question is, when creating a corps, is the distance to nearest army the deciding factor, the theater it's in, or something else? Note: Berthier sucks as an army commander (I knew that from reading, but, damn, he couldn't win a battle at 3 to 1 odds!).
B). Other than having 3 stars, are there any other requirements (barring seniority/VP costs) to forming an army? And the corollary being 2 stars for corp command?
3. Combining units.
A). After having been in several battles, I had a number of the exact same type of units that had suffered heavy losses (in some cases both units were below 50% strength) in one location, and yet, I couldn't combine them, is there some other factor that I'm not considering?
B). I understand the concept of Army/Corp/Division/Brigade/Regiment (element)... The problem is I haven't had much success in creating what I would call " super-specialist" divisions, something like an all exclusive 1 type of unit, maybe an artillery unit...any recommendations?
