French Spain

Hello,

I'm playing the latest patch, I have started the GC with France VS the Ai and it's November 1805. I have found a lot of small bug (like Nassau doesn't send the force he agreed to send), but nothing serious until this last turn.
In November 1805 Spanish and Britain sign a treaty of peace and suddenly come out this new nation called "French Spain", the ruler is Joseph Bonaparte, it holds only Madrid and it is a member of the British coalition against France. This situation is very confusing; can someone give me some explanations?

This is a planned event for when Napoleon appointed his brother as king of Spain. Do check alignment. French Spain should be allied with France. The rest of Spain is now allied with Britain.

I played some more turns (in game is December 1805) and now French Spain it's not just a member of the GB coalition, but Dow on me, Spain, Bavaria etc.etc.etc. Also, I didn't appoint him as nothing, he became king of French Spain after a treaty of peace between Spain and GB.

the event is supposed to kick off in 1808 after quite a few things happen.

Nope, French Spain is allied with England and at war with France. Rest of Spain is allied with France.

ive looked through the events. i cant find anything in them that would be causing it. this seems to be coming from the engine

It's very frustrating...I haven't played the game since mid February precisely because of all this mess with minors and diplomacy...it's sad and particularly frustrating because some of us flagged even before won development that too complicated a gc and diplomacy would bring more bad than good...and eaw diplomatic engine + events would have been just fine and allowed more focus on bettering the wargame by for example helping the AI better set up its forces through events or f4 options rather than the force building system it just doesn't know how to use. It's a shame because at heart there s a fantastic wargame with fantastic immersion power

I'm playing the latest Beta patch. It doesn't seems to be an event, seems to me that GB "liberated" French Spain from Spain as a result of the peace treaty

Yep, I had Prussia liberating the Duchy of Warsaw in a peace with Bavaria once... (they had dowed Bavaria, I dowed them, whacked them hard and then poof they sign peace with Bavaria liberating Warsaw as a neutral and giving Hambourg and co to Bavaria...talk about a whack job..).

no problems here with french spain - up to 1811 new patch. had problems with other patches re french spain. actually everything working quite smoothly. most of the spanish conflict has the ai playing pretty well - and im currently battling welling around lisbon. the ai has also done well defeating again my invasion of ireland. crashes are infrequent aqnd probably due to the fact i leave the game on for hours while im away.

French Spain has alse Dow'ed on me too - Oct 1806. I am playing with Enhanced Diplomacy mod however. I do not know what to do. It doesn't seem to be very aggressive at the moment however - no moves. I guess this is more up vicburgs avenue as he is the creator of the mod.

actually i dont know where the french spain is coming from. certainly none of my events.
