PBEM problems

Mon Mar 21, 2016 4:23 am

Me and my opponent are each experiencing a problem with the AI "taking over" and countermanding our orders after each turn. Anyone else have this problem? Can someone please share the PBEM file sequence. At the moment, he sends me the hist. file and me the ord. file. I make my moves and run the next turn. Then, when we check, units are all out of place. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

After the execution of each turn, the resulting '*.hst' file must be distributed to each player--the player who just executed the turn, ofc. already has it.

ALWAYS use 7Zip or some archiving program to compress files before transferring them, regardless of how you transfer them!! This not only to insures the integrity of the file content, but also the file names.

Are you sending your .ord file back to the player that is hosting? After you get the .hst file, you plot your orders and then hit the save button. After saving, send the hosting player your newly created .ord file (located in the same directory as the .hst file). The host then copies this .ord file into his save directory and then runs the turn. If the host does not have a .ord file for your faction then that triggers the AI to run for that faction.
