Jaipur

How do you go about taking Jaipur? To begin with, the info on the Town doesn't say anything about a fort there. Still when Wellesley moves there, the Town is besieged. Fair enough. But then nothing happens. I get reports saying the siege hasn't accomplished anything and that goes on for months. Knowing it would be a disasterous idea, I stormed it, only to get my troops mowed down like Indian plain grass. So the siege goes on, while the maharadja – or whatever he is – just sits there, smiling.

Is there any special rule regarding Jaipur, or regarding any Indian Town? If the garrison will run out of food, I don't know when, but considering the huge garrison and that they don't eat cows, shouldn't it happen eventually?

What is it that I don't know?

I tried one assault once there were several breaches but that failed, although it did serious damage to the defenders. They eventually surrendered but it took quite a long while.

I see. Good. Then I just stay put. Maybe move some extra siege guns there.

It's probably related to the fact it is an offmap box (a game concept representing miles and miles of distance and surface) where combat is not as intense as in a normal region...so it takes usually longer there...remember, this is supposed to represent the whole of central India, a place as big as half of Europe.
