Using paint mode

Where do I get information on this - searching the manual gives nil result. Saw the box pop up when I was experimenting with the keys but didn't have a clue what it was about until I saw the post describing problems with its functioning.

Right here. Click Tab. Click the country you are interested in. There's 3 options on the bottom right. One of them is revert to neutral all region interests for this country. Click that. Then on bottom left is a series of painting option. I use the one by one method and then click on the map where you want and close the window. If working, those troops converge on selected region(s).

Thanks and I'm grateful for that but I'm surprised that there is not full explanation in the manual. If there is the search isn't finding it. I see others in your thread are talking about buying options so it seems more involved than at first sight. Actually the concepts do ring a bell from when I looked at Pride of Nations - never played it but did read its manual so maybe they were covered there.
