In my current Game as Russia I have French coastal batteries, pioneers, Corps HQ units, artillery batteries and supply units appearing in Saint Petersburg; no combat units though, and led by Cavalry Generals! The amount of single artillery units and supply units that wander around on their own is really concerning as is the AI logic that buys them and sends them out on their own. Why does the AI do this and how well does the AI re-build after being smashed i.e. France defeating Austria in 1805 ..... For your consideration.
PS - I seem to remember that this was a big issue in ACW for a long while and was 75% cleaned up by the end of ACWII. Surely the lessons learnt in ACW/ACWII were applied when putting this together ....?

The problem is the program has a memory leak that changes the location of units, not the AI sending the units there.
I alway suscpected it when all the Spanish Artillery was showing up all over France. In a year's time, there would be about Spanish Unit "Appear" in France. Now, I am not fighting in France so I don't look at region every turn so it was possible that walked from Spain and I did not see it. But, for a Spanish unit to get from Spain to Holland without me seeing it is hard to believe.
I was playing as France. I was looking at the Game Log and say that Hesse had a CB against me for having troops in their territory. I clicked the link and saw some French Units. One stack was the stack I was garrissioning Bremen. Another stack was garrissioning Hanover. There was a Supply unit which I had left in either Bremen or Hannover, I can't remember which. With this interface, it is easy to send a stack somewhere you don't mean to but to accidentely send 3 units from different locations that show up at the same city in the same turn is hard to beleive. But the kicker is there was also a Coastal Battery unit there. Sending it back to the nearest coastal city said it would take 280 days. That is longer than the game I was playing. There is absoultly no way that unit could have got there even if I accidently ordered it there. Which I am sure I did not.
