Customers *NOT* beta-testers

Sun Dec 27, 2015 12:06 am

ok.
When Ageod is selling a game and people bought it, everyone may expect that the game is RUNNING so the money isn't wasted.

About WON v1.00 ; no people were able to play GC without crashes and very quickly after start SO :

-Either no one from ageod played the game v1.00 more than a very few turns so ageod is filled up with uncompetent people ....
-Either Ageod KNEW that the game wasn't finished and filled with so plenty bugs but, anyway, sold it and so the customers are bullshit for Ageod and you tricked/cheated them.
in both cases, YOU are in some troubles.

WE are CUSTOMERS and not beta-testers
if the game had some hazardous results in GC, say, 50 turns after start of the game, why not : But after just started the game ......unacceptable.
and i'm not talking about hazardous moves or results but simply CRASHES and crashes again and numerous times

yes, ageod reacted and proposed patch quickly BUT in that case, if the seller (ageod) did his job correctly, we (the customers) should have been able to, at least, play
and the fact that ageod proposed patches is not an answer about that fail in starting/selling WON v1.00
I will perfectly admit that patches exist to improve graphics, or update text but not the fact the game is not running at all

We paid for a game and we are expecting that the game is R U N N I N G. Is that too much asking from a game seller ????
you failed to sell a running game so you failed about your obligations to your customers ; *that* is unacceptable

Unfortunately, I must agree with you. My game will not allow me to advance beyond 2 turns, so essentially I paid $40.00 for a 2 turn game. I just hope all the problems are fixed as soon as possible.

I'm quite frustrated as well. The setup and turn processing times are brutal in WON, so you have to spend a great deal of time just getting the game going only to watch your game crash a few turns in. I think I'm gonna put WON on the back-burner for a bit until it's properly patched.

This is simply untrue. Mine has not crashed under any version, and I'm sure that's the case for many others. Whilst, I have every sympathy for those who are experiencing CTDs, exaggeration doesn't help.

You have no idea how this all works do you. How many different PC configurations do you think are out there, regarding their hardware/software combinations? It is entirely possible that on the machines of the devs and beta-testers the final pre-release version was running without any meaningful crashes - only to see problems once exposed to all the machines of the retail customers. There is a reason, why nowadays big mainstream game companies prefer developing for game consoles over developing for PC, making all these adjustments for the different configurations plus testing it. I for my part, like the poster above, have yet to experience a crash.

I am sorry to hear that you have been experiecing so many crashes. We have indeed tried the game over at least three dozens different beta testers and their unique machines and no one has experienced this. There has been some issues, here and there, linked to various external causes, such as un-updated drivers, admin rights or antivirus restrictions, and sometimes also due to cinfig not powerful enough.

In all cases, we'll be happy to solve the issues you are facing if the matter comes from our game, or even if not and if we can find why. Please contact the support helpdesk and we shall check that carefully.

There have been issues, but I've only had like two crashes. Usually you just return to the last turn (which means all your orders are saved) then re-run it and it works. WoN was not perfect upon release, but AGEOD's done a good job fixing problems as they come out, and have been working with players who do know how the code works to fix things faster. That's about all you can ask for. Now Thirty Years Wars... that game could use a little extra help. But WoN is doing well. I've had fun with it for the most part in the last two weeks. Everything seems pretty good in WoN to me except some of the scripted peaces. Otherwise, it's been good.
