Current Replacement System

Wed Dec 16, 2015 9:47 pm

I really dislike the current replacement system. I didn't like it in ACW2 or in the ancient games, but it didn't feel as tedious in those games either. It seems to me that Rise of Prussia had it right. You could control the types of replacements requested, such as heavy cavalry or infantry. It was graphically more appealing and easier to see. It also seemed like it didn't require so much micro management as WoN is requiring.

Additionally, the events seemed to be handled better in RoP. I liked the yes no choices, the historical choices offered in the scripting which seems missing here.

Finally, it would sure be nice if pop up reminders came in on events and diplomacy. Looking through the logs is a pain.

Was the RoP system disliked by the community? What gives?

I agree that the current system is not very good, but I think that actually TEAW and CWII replacement system would be a much better fit for this game than RoP. Maybe I just have a thing for NATO counters (I am a military history student), but the system was very clear and easy in TEAW, and it allowed to buy replacements for non-faction owned equipment. And yes, a reminder that you have to respond to a diplomacy request would be really handy, I do not remember to check diplomacy tab every turn.
