Engagement Points (EP's) balanced?

Thu Oct 29, 2015 7:56 am

I noticed in the latest screenshots that in June 1815, the player had only 3 or 4 EP's! If this was not a super short scenario, then I assume that game had been going on since at least 1813? If so, it appears that EP's are finally balanced as compared to the useless 400 EP's collected in a game of TYW! I hope this has been corrected. Personally, I prefer the variety of costs associated with CW2 rather than just spending seemingly ethereal EP's for RGD's.

One of my top reasons for loving AGEOD games is that the player is given real-life possibilities at a certain historical point in time within the constraints (as reasonably as good gameplay allows) of that particular nation or alliance. When this requires decisions based on real-life consequences (not all decisions result in merely "good" results, some less desirable results occur) with LIMITED FUNDS then I can boast to anyone who will listen to me about how great AGEOD games are!

However, as I have noticed in TYW, regrettably, I cannot boast that the EP's give the player hard decisions that they have to make that can determine the results of the game because EP's come way too easily in that game.

I hope I am right about the balancing of EP's in this game because this time period is right up there among my all-time favorites.

Fine tuning costs balance is always a long, hard and delicate task. But that's what we are aiming at...

In TYW after a long PBEM game through 1629, EP can be scarce and spending can be a choice for PRO faction to influence diplomacy (income benefit through it) or contribution. But depends on battlefield success.
