Remove Corps Command for this leader

Sat Sep 06, 2014 5:07 pm

If I make a corps of two corps,
I have two activated Corps Commander in this Corpsstack (Light golden banner).

Can I use the command 'Remove Corps Command for this leader' determine one of them by now?
Or for what this button is otherwise determined?

When I click on a stack is often displayed only the Commander.
When I click on 'Split the units'
I see all subordinate units at division level.
The NATO symbol at the Leader turns into e.g. 2 star leader.

Is the Split command in this case is harmful or is it to better manage the units within a stack?

If I split this costs a CP point more, i had seen ??

Regards

Michael

Seniority determines the commander. I would only split corps if (1) both leaders are equally good, and each could lead, even if one gets a corps and another something else (2) you exceeded 24cp and need another stack (3) you want to play smoke and mirrors, making enemy think you have more men than you do

As for "remove command", don't worry about it. Any leader without a corps will lose that gold bar during turn processing. And there is no CP cost for splitting.

Hello Lynxyonok,

thank you for your reply.
If I understood it,
is the 'split' command not for the clarity within the stacks,
but separates the troops from the chain of command contained in the stack
Leaders?
Two Commander within a corps?
The leader with the higher seniority leads to the Corps.
But I can use the command 'Remove Corps Command for this leader'
and take the leader with the better * - * - * ?

Regards

Michael

Ok. Let's separate "stack" and "corps". A stack is the whole group. It may include corps within it. Your stack leader will be the most senior leader. He may or may not be the corps leader too. I usually build stacks that look like this, from left to right in the unit panel. (1) good general with a corps + division + division (2) good general + slightly worse general with a corps + division + division

I have expressed myself perhaps a little more complicated.
The stack all units, I understand.
A stack can consist of armies, corps, individual garrisons, etc. ..
When I see a corps, this leader can have CP 24 or even 25 CP may result.
More often, he has only 12 CP consumed and I sit often a corps in with him
so has this 24/25 or 24/24 Corps on.
Then I have two leader within a corps.
I would like to be guided only one leader this troops.
This is the one who with the higher seniority?

I want choose the leader with the better *-*-* lead the corps.
I thought the commando 'Remove Corps command leader' is for ???

Regards

Michael

Always assume that the leftmost general in the unit roster is the leader, regardless of who has what corps.

When I have poor leaders with high seniority I assign them to garrisons, out of the way ;)

Just remember that most of those poor attributes are ONLY when the commander
is in command of a stack. Otherwise you might be wasting perfectly good corps
commanders that you could put in an army stack.

Agreed. :) I play with high randomization on, and I get a fair share of leaders with 0 strategic rating which turns them into sitting ducks on the battlefield. And when new generation of leaders keeps getting promoted, those 0s and 1s have to go... Unless they have some stellar modifiers that apply to all elements.

Thanks for the explanations.
The commanders on the far left have the command within a substacks.
But for what the command 'Remove Corps Command for this leader' is?

Regards

Michael

That's for when you've put together a corps - 2 divisions and 2 artillery,
and wish to break it back up again.
