Tue Mar 10, 2015 8:53 am

Is there a wiki for this game? It really could need one...

There is no wiki specific to EAW but there is a global wiki on the engine, please check my signature! :)

Yes, I found that already.
Would you mind or even support the community putting up a dedicated EAW wiki? And if so, are there any specific conditions to respect?
When I think of several wikis of paradox games or the total war franchise, I really believe something like that could help newcomers (like me), owing to the complexity of this strategy title.

Or could we simply enhance the AGEWiki implementing an EAW section? Probably most convenient for you...

Unfortunately account creation in your AGEWiki is disabled. I know my only 9 posts so far in this forum may not appear trustworthy, but I would appreciate your help on this.
I determined I have no chance understanding portions of this game without working through some topics to point out every detail. I would like to contribute these insights for other people like me, which seek for help.

I can ask the Wiki admin to open you an account though, I'll keep you posted.

You may have noticed that I strongly oppose your practice of pushing steam reviews in the other thread. I may add that I also am one of the negative reviewers on Steam and I can tell you that you are wrong when calling all the negative reviewers biased. I am not biased, I really want to like EAW. I repeatedly give it a chance. I am 30+ hours into the game and still suffer from the confusing manual. That is why I want to contribute all stuff I find out and plan to clarify in a wiki, to enable other new players to get into this game much easier.
But don't expect me to recommend this game on steam anytime soon, as long as new players need more than 30 hours to actually have fun with EAW.
Just being honest.

I bought this game and I still want to have fun with it. Probably many other also want this.
Help us.

About bias, perhaps you misunderstand me. I'm not saying that negative reviews are biased, suggesting their are unfair, everyone is entitled his opinion.

What I was saying by using 'biased' is that the Ageod forum community, which is in its vast majority positive toward the AGE engine games, seldom go to the corresponding Steam EAW forum. And yet, they provide most of the players (the sells).

So the bias is that the negative reviews, on Steam, are not in proportion to the people having bought the games and are thinking positive about it, even with possible reservations.

As for giving it a thumb down. This is a big thing. It basically means 'don't buy it' to others people. If you put 30 hours into EAW and want to learn it, my humble and personal opinion would be that you should perhaps put a thumb up but with warnings in your comment, like 'can do better', 'room for improvements', etc. But a thumb down is very close to what the Roman emperors said with it: 'no mercy, finish it, it deserve not to live'. On Steam it means 'its crap, don't buy it, there is no redeem quality'.

as this thread has derailed to another subject which is already posted here:

http://www.ageod-forum.com/showthread.php?39015-These-missing-12-UPDATE-missing-4-now-!&p=343432#post343432

I'm closing it, so there is only one thread to discuss the thumb up/down matter.
