winter is coming....

Fri Nov 21, 2014 6:52 pm

i love that line from Game of Thrones... winter is coming. And the Russian winter is coming soon to my eastern front campaign. I need to get an answer to this question... playing with historical attrition... do my troops need to be in a region with a structure to be immune from losses due to weather OR can they be entrenched with no structure and still be ok?? how much does harsh weather affect supply?? I'm shivering already at the thought... and i live in a desert :)

They'll take a few losses in entrenchments if not in the same region as a structure. Keep a supply unit with them and it'll take the weather hits just as in CW2. All other things being equal, structures are better. Weather affects supply moving without river/rail transport, again just as in CW2. You shouldn't be doing too much during the winter anyway, so most supply will move by rail.

Thanks. So the supply units take the hits... then they can be refilled at a depot? or do i need to buy expensive replacement units under production??

No, they take the hits, and if you really need it, you can refill them at the nearest depot.
