Graphic Supply Flow Lines

Thu Jan 16, 2014 9:57 pm

I've read all the supply related threads and they have been very helpful. But, I think a map filter/display that would show graphically (perhaps with colored lines/arrows blue = union, gray = CSA perhaps) where your supply lines actually run would be very helpful. I know there is the supply map filter, but it doesn't really show the whole picture clearly. For example, it doesn't show who controls the rivers. A player could have control of regions on both sides, but without a fort built in either, enemy supply can flow through on the river in between. An appropriate colored line down the river would solve this. Also, if supply is cut anywhere along the line, an "X" could be displyed with a tooltip message telling the player why the flow ends there. I think numbers to show how much supply and ammo are actually moving would be fantastic too, but it might be a daunting task to develop. Just the lines would be useful.

If you apply the supplies filter to the map and you move your mouse over a region with a depot/ city bigger than size 3, there is a tooltip that tells you how many suppies and ammo have been recived and how many have been sent if thats what you meant. I´d like better to have a map filled with all those numbers without needed to move the cursor above the regions.. but still....

Yes, this is true. But I was looking for something that you could refer to more at a birds eye view at a glance. Especially regarding river movement of supplies. That way you wouldn't have to necessarily check every region to see what's going on. It's a bit methodical and cumbersome. Of course, you can always go to specific regions for any required detail with the tooltip.
