1862 Shiloh Scenario - Union on offensive ??

Tue Nov 19, 2013 1:34 am

As far as I know in the battle of Shiloh the Confederate army has initially surprised Grant who was resting and was not (yet) ready to move towards Corinth.
In this scenario all Union troops are assembled for offensive and will attack Corinth straight away. Would locking or making inactivated Grant and Buell for a turn or two be too ahistorical?

Also objectives and scenario description for both sides are "strange" and don't match!

The scenario used to have Memphis as a strategic location, but it seemed to cause the player to ignore Corinth, because Memphis was worth so much more in points.

At the scenario start the Union already holds Nashville, and should logically be obliged to hold on to hit too.

Maybe both Memphis and Corinth should have the same victory point value.

Someone should also check the Order Of Battle for both sides.

As I recall the sides were nearer to equal. Otherwise how did the South expect to win?

They were at least equal to Grant in numbers but could not take on both armies together.

If I remember the game scenario correctly, they can’t do that.
