Alternative buttons do not seem to be working with RC3. When I turn it on using the Options screen and restart, no buttons are displayed.

This happened with RC3. I'm going to reload the turn and see if it was a one-off. When the
turn began processing it switched to the main screen for the entire turn. I saw messages about
what was happening and the turn clock displayed, but that was it other than the battle planner
and results.

Post Edit - it didn't happen on the rerun.

I'll check for the alternate buttons, I might have goofed on the graphics for the patch installer.
For the battle report error, I'll see if I can reproduce the issue.

How do I open an .rar file? My version of windows says it doesn't recognize it. I've never had this problem with any other CW2 patch, beta or otherwise. What happened?

Install 7-zip. It will handle .rar files as well as offering an additional way to work with zip files with more options. Free and non-intrusive.

So far the crashes are much more infrequent, but they are still present, that is to say they are above normal. Crashes occur randomly but as the campaigns continue seem to become more likely until they occur once every 3 turns or so.

Normally yes. When we revised the code on retreat, taking into account new factors, then a bug or two was introduced some weeks ago, but it should be fixed.

RC4 Conscript Issue?

Tue Jan 20, 2015 11:15 pm

I've tried two campaigns - April, 1861 - as the CSA. I am pretty sure that we are not getting proper conscripts each turn. Running VERY low in both games. In the first, I got to Spring, 1862 [no CTDs :-) ], used every Draft RGD, and all mobilization choices. Other than with what comes free in the game, I was able to build ONE division. I deleted that game, so I have no saves, but in the new start, I am pretty early, but seems the same. Haven't yet reached a point were I can offer premiums or mobilize. Might be a WS issue as well. Only money seems to be OK. Anyone else noticing this at all?

RC5 uploaded, with further error logging on the crash happening for some players on new turn, please report!
Also the units names in the Unit Panel should be better displayed.
A few others fixes too.

I installed 1.05 rc5 but when I start the game, it still shows it as 1.05 rc4 (January 13). I reinstalled rc5 but it still shows as rc4.

This is a minor oversight in the System.opt file.

Go into the "..\{CW2-installation-folder}\CW2\Settings" folder.

Open System.opt in notepad.exe, or the text editor of your choice.

Change the following line:

GameVersion = 1.05 public beta RC4 (Jan13-2015)

to

GameVersion = 1.05 public beta RC5 (Jan30-2015)

Save the changes.

Sure, just are you sure it´s RC7? I don´t mean it reads RC6 but exe. file reads the same as RC6(date-time). But installed it anyway. Will let you know soon.

The change date on CW2.EXE should be Feb 5th, 14:44
This is what I get on my version. Don't you?

It, reads 11:26 for me. Downloaded twice from main page. Trying it now. But it seems to work processed 5 turns now and no crash. So dunno.

Ok I gotta go to work so I will drop you a current save and logs from a game that didnt crash so you can check out if it worked like you intended or it´s a lucky coincidence.

I see Feb 5, 11:25

And, the extracted installer is identical to the one from previous RC6, and file is named RC6, and system.opt shows RC6

The link still points to RC6. Instead of clicking, I copied/pasted the URL text and it downloaded RC7.
