Mistake...

Sun Oct 20, 2013 3:43 pm

In June 1862 I have just received a message announcing that Lee is now available for field command!! There's only one problem: he has been leading an army for almost a year already! :) This needs to be fixed: either Lee is available from the start OR in June '62.

No mistake - In your game, Lee must have been activated by the proximity of Union forces to Richmond.

He is supposed to be locked until Jun 1862. As Montbrun says, he can be activated if he is attacked (it states that a locked unit can become unlocked if attacked). Thus, he could be unlocked before that time, but the game event doesn't check for that condition before it unlocks him.

Yes, Richmond was attacked early. To stop this from becoming a 'gamey' way of getting Lee early I still think that he should remain inactive or perhaps move him to another major city.

Lee could start locked in Savannah November -61 and be unlocked by an invasion in SC, GA or FL.

Then in the spring of -62 he would move to his current place in Richmond and unlock there in June -62.

This might be historical, fair and good for game balance.

Nice idea. That would be a good solution.
