Unable to Play by Email

Sun Dec 15, 2013 1:47 am

I am unable to play a file sent from my opponent. I click on LOAD. I see the file which I click on, choose the side I am playing because it has the little formation icon in the lower right, click PLAY.
Receive the message "Sorry! A critical error has occurred. the application will be terminated."

My opponent is hosting and he can load my first turn file okay. I just can load his file after he processes the turn.

What is going on?
:(

Ask him to zip the file and send it again to you, it might be corrupted.

Well, we did that already.
I'm going to try with another player tonight.
Where can I find detailed explanations as to how PBEM works? I mean step by step instructions. The manual is not clear and is actually wrong.

There are only 2 files to consider, the HST file which has all infos, and the ORD file which has the orders you give. Nothing much fancy here, the player hosting the game needs to get the ORD files from everybody and click on end turn. Once done, the HST file is updated and he needs to send it to all players. Rince & repeat.

Thanks. So no need to consider where the folders are located or having specific folder names or locations?
i.e. - Do you need to save in the same place each time? Do they have to have the exact same name every turn?

These are the details that need to be clarified.

If you are not the host, yes you can save the file you received to the folder of your choice, provided it is in Saves. As for the name, you should not rename the file.

Hi Pocus - great game this CW2, but multi-player or head-2-head mode is a glaring need. Would it be possible for something you guys can address in a future patch/version? I would be willing to pay for the upgrade to the game to save the hassle of file management as outlined here.
