CTD experienced twice

Sat Dec 14, 2013 10:59 pm

Second time I have seen this with the same "symptom", in many games.

Happens at end of turn. All AI Calcs and moves occur, then crashes at day 15/15

I have an Octocore Alienware Laptop with 16GB RAM and a SSD harddrive. Drivers can't be more up-to-date, Windows 7, Windows Updates on. The log says "Invalid Pointer" in any case, I just put these stats to save people asking.

Save + Log attached.

Sorry to say I did not reproduce your crash, here is your newly processed turn though.

Thank you for looking I guess.

What do you suggest if this keeps happening? If me submitting bug reports exactly as asked for isn't the answer, what does one do next time?

It isn't an issue with my system. It couldn't be more powerful or up-to-date.

Paradoxically, your system might be too up to date. Sounds weird I know. The game engine runs on either DirectX9 or DirectX8, and it is known that Windows Seven or later support for Dx8/Dx9 is not 100% perfect. The same can be also considered for video cards manufacturers, I doubt they now support fully older Dx in latest video cards. Perhaps try a compatibility mode then.
