confused...

I'm seriously considering buying the game but am somewhat confused...is CWII still an add on to the original game or is it a stand alone game at this point?

CW2 is a sequel to AACW and has always been a standalone game with expanded mechanics, graphics, music and upgrades to the original engine. There is a CW2 expansion called Bloody Roads South which has a number of interesting scenarios, particularly covering later periods of the war.
