Sometimes you want a Corp beneath an Army but you do not want it to MTSG. How do you stop it from MTSGing, is only changing the posture to Green able to do this? I have never tried to put a front line Corp on Green next to supportive Corps. Though I think someone here may have? Would locking the Corp by right clicking achieve this as well? Without losing it's defensive posture in it's own province?
For every Southern boy fourteen years old, not once but whenever he wants it, there is the instant when it's still not yet two o'clock on that July afternoon in 1863 ~~~
also setting it to defend will help, as that is one part of the malus for successful MTSG. Only really safe approach is probably to detach it from the army though

Maybe some work to enhance the engine? (if not already done):
Defend-at-all-cost should prevent from MTSG (at least 90% preventing chance),
as it should be even at cost of other units let making their work alone...
You wouldn't want a stack to be passive or evade combat if they are defending something. Defensive posture only removes about 10% of the chance to MTSG. If you added a slow element to the stack, like a coastal gun or heavy artillery, this would get you a -10% for each day that it would take to move to the battle region.
