Union Rangers

So how do I recruit Union Rangers in the Far West? As a Union Player, I only ever see mounted vol inf in the far west force pools, yet when I PBEM as a CSA player, those darn union rangers seem to be everywhere.

Is there a limited opportunity to recruit them? What force pool do they belong to? (I'm assuming that it is FW infantry...)

You need to put the unit build mode to "all" rather than the FW region or showing only infantry. You will see them. They can be built in that area.

As the CSA, I build a few in north texas and go after the thin line of union forts.

They show up as a unit for the SW region, not FW, and they come up a little at a time. I think there's only five or six that can be built if you stick to historical troop levels.

Like Bismarck, I mainly use mine against the forts linking the New Mexico region with populated Texas.
