Complete log of messages and events?

I find myself sometimes forgetting something important I have to do (like send brigades to MN) in so many turns. I was wondering if there is a complete log of all the messages/events from all the turns? Is there a work around?

Not within game; you only get to see the messages relating to the just-completed turn. I suppose there are log files you could look at, but that's overkill.

In the spirit of historical accuracy I restrict myself to pen and paper for keeping notes (hee hee!). No ball-points of course, and I break out my goose-quills when playing WIA. But that sure beats the wax-tablet-and-stylus I have to use to remind myself to buy replacements in AJE!
