Demo?

Mon Sep 16, 2013 5:55 pm

Will there be a demo for this, as the new features still haven't sold this game to me. As a non-American and mostly European history reader this looks a bit like a tech demo of a new engine.

I'm sure they'll have a demo out soon. Try reading Shelby Foote's Civil War history. It will get you in the mood for the American Civil War! (I'm a Brit).

We won't do a demo for CW2, part because a demo for games who ask for some efforts to get into and some time to grow on you, it is self deserving. For many, a demo of CW2 will be to launch the tutorial or even a scenario, see this is complex and then close it.

Plus demo always take some time to get it right, ideally we would want to show all facets of the game, and proposing the tutorials and a small scenario is far from optimal. Time better spent on adding more features for people who bought the game.

I guess this will attract some flaks, but that's ok. At least these are the true reasons, without any sugar-coating, that's my style. ;)
