Hrmm still a lot to learn, esp when it comes to capitalizing on offensive situations. Overall I'd say above average...

4-2-4
Entrenchment
Slow mover

I tend to try and fight defensive battles wherever possible, even when on the offensive. Force your enemy into a bad position and let him throw himself at you to get out of it

3 - 3 - 6 I would defend any day, for the this day and age the RIFLE, is the tool that favors the defender. I'm also an engineer expert, innovating ways to make the best entrenchments and fortifications.

Expert Engineer (I'm a very deep thinker and take pashion in innovation)
Siege Expert (Same as above, I'm that guy whose good at chess, with a lot of puzzle solving and spacial reasoning)
Overly Cautious (Indecisive, anxious, very aware)
Training Master (Hard on the men so they'll thank me after battle, want them to be trained with living off the land and discipline)
Logistician (Living off the land from training, find ways to get supplies, even if it resorts to foraging)

Soon. I might have to move now and want to make sure I have a stable internet connection
once I get relocated. I won't know until after Tuesday. If I don't have to move I'll message
you Wednesday and we can start, but let me warn you, I wasn't kidding about my stats. I'm
not one of the better players here.

Ha, me neither, mine was more in real life scenario. I think you will destroy me in game since I never played mp. I even struggled with the AI as the Union when I played.

Then we'd be a pretty good match. I'll know more by tomorrow night. Even if I
stay I may have to wait until I can get an internet account hooked up because
he hasn't been paying the bill and I expect it to get cut off any day now. Might
be another week or two but I'll message you when I back up and running.

Very interesting thread how a person rates oneself. There are so many factors that go into the quality of a General I find. Not the least of one which is the actual state of mind and vitality of the General(or that of their mind to perform) I thought that I had heard that General Lee was suffering health problems into '63 which may have accounted for some of his poor decision making during Gettysburg. Of course is that true or historians apologizing for his poor performance there?

I also find that a true objective guide to a person's performance is better obtained by a group of people playing that person and seeing for themselves at various stages and even a poor General will have flashes of brilliance. Often it's a desire to win after understanding the mechanics... to actually perform a victory.

That all said in myself and in others I find traits. Some are naturally defensive and others naturally offensive. Some are cautious and others don't pay attention to detail. Some lose interest quickly and others are extremely focused on one thing or another. A great understanding of math would make a GREAT PC general and game mechanics but perhaps not a great real world General. I suppose for many of us this is as close as we shall ever get.

I try to evolve(I like how this game changes ratings) Some of us gain traits and lose some as we go... Some of us begin poor and evolve to be very great at something.

True Ratings are hard to judge! As Ivan Lendl was always the poorer player to John Mcenroe over years the one worked harder and became greater. Similarly to Borg vs Mcenroe previously. (Perhaps greatness inspires greatness then? All things being relatively similar)

I Place myself at 3-2-3 Surpriser trait

This meat is well seasoned.

And as we tend to be blind to our own faults, self analysis is better done by somebody on the outside looking in.

But I'll bite.

Perhaps a 4-2-4?

Any way it goes, I try to keep a eye out for the ground and prefer the art of defense to that of attack.

3-1-3

Artillerist, Entrencher, Hated Occupier, Over Cautious. I think I do better defensively, I'm not enough of a gambler to launch an attack without everything being perfect.
