Hi there! I've recently bought ACW2 after playing the original religiously for years, and while I'm enjoying the game immensely, I've come across something quite annoying on the 1.05 patch. Basically, as generals become available, there are notifications telling me that not only are all of them being commended for their actions and now have a seniority of 1, but also that some some are now eligible for promotion despite having yet to fight a single battle. Has anyone come across this? and if so, how does one do away with it?

I'm beginning to think that it may be one of the options that I adjusted prior to starting a game but not sure...

I can't remember having heard of such an occurrence. I would note however, that the latest, well tested patch is 1.06 .

This happened to me when I tried to re-install patch 1.5 after installing 1.6. Re-installing 1.6 fixed the issue.
