Battle results Q. One

Kearny leaves Alexandria Late March 1862 via rail with about 1200 men to go to New York. A southern partisan is sieging Annapolis, so, I use that to explain why Kearny doesn't reach New York in less than 15 days. (And really, how does 60 men besiege anything?) The next turn is processed and on day 7 of Early April 62, Beauregard finds Kearny still at Alexandria and wipes him out. Oddly, it shows McDowell in command, and shows the US force as 27000 men (in Alexandria). Kearny loses 3000. Ahem, he only had about 1200. WTF is going on? How does he lose units from the garrison, but the garrison doesn't fight? How is Kearny still at Alexandria? Are you assumed to still be at your start location until the date you "arrive" at your destination? Did McDowell command the battle? He and his troops are in the garrison.

There's too little information to make a proper assessment.

McDowell is in the same region? If so, then as ranking general, he commands the battle.

The number of men etc. displayed is the number in the region, whether they fought or not. If they were in the Alexandria garrison, then they appear in the totals, but do not fight, unless Beauregard were in AP (Assault Posture) in order to attack the garrison inside the city during the same turn.

The entire Eustis' Bde. was destroyed apparently, so that probably explains the 3000 casualties.

A unit is assumed to be in a region until it reaches the next region along its path.
