Question on rest

Sun Jul 26, 2015 10:24 am

if a unit moves to a place that takes only 5 days, does that unit "rest" the other 10 days of the turn?

so is cohesion effected the same if a unit moves 5 days vs 14 days move on a turn?

Yes, if it is in supply it will recover cohesion when not moving, very important concept in the game.

To be exact each element both loses and gains cohesion each day.

Losing cohesion is dependent on a lot of factors, some of the most prominent being 'marching', 'lack of supply', 'weather' and 'battle'.

Each day your element will also gain some cohesion. How much depends on 'the same factors.

Just for illustration purposes--because these figures are completely fictional--a Line Infantry element is marching from a clear terrain region into a neighboring clear terrain region, both in fair weather, which takes 5 days to complete. Each day it gains 1 cohesion point, but it also loses 2.5 points, the net difference being 1.5 cohesion points lost for marching under these circumstances per day for a total of 7.5 cohesion points by the time it arrives in its target region.

During the remaining 10 days of the turn, while it is not marching, the element will continue to gain 1 cohesion point per day, so it will regain all the cohesion they lost during marching, and if at that point it is still not at full cohesion, will gain cohesion normally as above until it does reach full cohesion.
