Cohesion

I am in early in 1862. I have 3 armies and other medium divisions. In each army, I will have the main general and 4 other generals who has a division. I go up against a confederate army and get my arse kicked. I notice that my cohesion levels are getting low, how do I improve cohesion to my armies and ships??

Mainly by having your units remain stationary - or resting. Putting them in defensive posture or passive will increase the amount regained. Going inside a structure will also help.
