Does the NM Modifier Table from AJE, Birth of Rome, carry over into CW2?

Mon Apr 20, 2015 2:39 am

Because the learning curve was so steep, I put off buying Ageod games for many years.

I was a fool.

Now that the initial birth pains of learning are behind me, I can only marvel at how excellent and wide reaching the system is and how much I have missed for so long.

As ancients are where my heart lies, I just purchased the Birth of Rome and while reading the instruction manual, discovered the game's NM table.

Which brought up this question: Do the NM values from AJE, Birth of Rome, carry over into CW2?

(The chart below summarizes the NM effects in AJE)

NATIONAL MORALE VALUES EFFECTS
Base Level: 150 – Range values: 145-154 +25%
Base Level: 140 – Range values: 135-144 +20%

Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one's youth.

Yes, that's the same discrete steps.

There is no table nor absolute changes to NM per se. What there is, is a number of chances per each faction's 'Nation Resilience' value.

Each turn a faction's NM deviates from 100 one d100 (100-sided-die die roll) per National Resilience value is made. If a d100 value is =< the absolute value of (100 - NM) that faction's NM move 1 NM toward the 100 mark.

CSA National Resilience value is 7; USA National Resilience value is 4.

These values can be found in each faction's faction definition file found in:
'..\CW2\GameData\Factions\'.

You can manually change these files with any text-editor such as MS Notepad or Notepad++. Making a copy of the original files in a safe location is strongly recommended.
