In the Foot Steps

General Cardinal Ape,
General, USA.

In my mind of yesterday, I fully intended to fight out it to the bitter end. I did not intend to propose the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia. To be frank, I do not think the emergency has arisen to call for the surrender of this army, but, as the restoration of peace should be the sole object of all, I hereby offer you my sword in surrender.

In the footsteps of R.E. Lee, on the 150th anniversary of the surrender of the Army of Northern Virginia at Appomattox, I propose to lay down arms. I ask only for the same terms that Grant proposed on April 9, 1865.

Straight Arrow, General, CSA.

Congratulations Cardinal Ape,

Winning our CW2 PBEM game on the 150th anniversary of the end of the civil war is way too cool!

This is one for your record books.

That is quite cool. Definitely a game I will remember.

Gamers who act with dignity in the face of defeat are the best type of gamers in my opinion.

Straight Arrow, you are one of those gamers. It was a pleasure to play against you. Thank you for the good game.

The date to surrender couldn't be more symbolical. Nice
