Eureka

Sun Mar 15, 2015 10:02 pm

18 months later, and after leaving CW2 on my hard drive to rot, I started playing again and "Eureka!" It is finally coming together. It is hard to explain what or why, it just happened. Athena is running and cowering like a shamed tramp...everything just makes sense. Usually my learning curve is not so steep, and for the record 3 observations:

1. The game is subtle and complex; worth learning when you see it in action like it is supposed to work.
2. The documentation is simply atrocious, and is the reason I lost interest a year ago and refused to buy any other AGOED products.
3. The friendlies on this board, Capt Orso and company, have made all the difference in the world concerning my ability to master CW2; without them there is simply no way to make sense of it all. Much thanks to you for your patient explanations, hints and wealth of undocumented information which makes a huge difference.

I might even buy another AGEOD title, if the friendlies frequent the other forum boards...

Cheers

I could not agree more on all three counts. I determined that the best way to learn the game is right here in the forum with Captain Orso and company. The search engine is a great tool.

I just decided to learn here and "put my head down" and march along with a campaign and learn from my mistakes. I am very pleased with my progress but I am still a neophyte. The learning is fun and the game is great.

I also let the game sit on my hard drive for a long time due to the learning curve but I took the recent snow storms to say, "you know what...now is the time to learn this game."
Glad we brushed off the dust and "marched to the sound of the guns!" :dada:
