Rivers not freezing?

Sun Sep 21, 2014 9:01 am

Is it me, or do the rivers not freeze (1.04)?

humm... under what conditions, then?
Paducah, Columbus, Charleston, Cairo, and numerous other regions were whalloped with 2 months of blizzards in my current game, but I never saw the Mississippi Confluent freeze. Worse, I put my gunboats into port because I figured that it would freeze, but the Athena Union was running gunboatds and troops down the Mississippi all damn winter. :(

I don't recall the Mississippi near Cairo/Paducah ever freezing. The river near Nashville tends to, as do the areas near Chattanooga, and further up into Illinois and Iowa. All still happening for me after 1.04.

So, it's not just shallow water that may freeze any longer, it has to specifically be marked as freezable.
Good to know!

You mentioned Nashville, so I started looking around there and; lo and behold! "May Freeze"!
hehe

Maybe it was always this way, and I just forgot. Seems like a change though. If it is a change, it's a good one (except... I think that more river regions should probably be marked as freezable).
