VP Values for Stockades

Mon Feb 03, 2014 7:38 am

Does anyone know how many VP points are gained when taking a stockade or how many are lost when destroying a stockade you own? Does overwhelming the auto-garrison net you another VP for destroying an element?

Loser loses 1 VP, winner gains nothing. AG might net a VP though, it depends of a random roll.

Thank you! I went to update the Wiki but found that someone has inserted values of +5/-3. I just want to confirm that those numbers are wrong before I change them. They imply that one could net 2 VPs with every enemy stockade captured and burnt. Instead what happens is that the side losing the stockade loses 1 VP, and the winning side gains none (or possibly one from eliminating an autogarrison and making a follow-up roll)? Destroying the newly captured stockade costs one VP also, so if a player captures a stockade and then burns it, each player has lost one VP leaving the relative positions the same (ignoring the autogarrison possibility)?

Are the +5/-3 values the ones for pre-war forts?

I thought Pocus said you loose 1 VP for loosing the autogarrison.
I have changed the Viki to +5VP/-3VP values as these were the values in 1.02. I haven't rechecked them in 1.03. though.
I see no wrong in earning VP for burning enemy stockades. It has some incentive for le petit guerre (I hope I said it correctly). That is what CSA raiders did - burn US property - they did millions $ of damage that way.

Don't mention 1.03 please, I grow envious. :)

Thank you for the clarification, I misunderstood, I thought he was answering both questions, which is why I didn't just change it. In the screenshots on Victory Points in the wiki I now see that you used the example of taking Fort Sumter, and stockades are forts, so stands to reason. I see the historical rationale as well, and am kicking my stockade burning CSA rampage into high gear!

Do not know about stockade files, but this is what I got after capturing a stockade,

and after destroying a stockade:

A view from the other side after loosing a stockade. It seems 5+1 VP lost.
