1864 Election

I have reached Jan 1864 in a PBEM as the CSA.
The election event says that the morale scale switches to 25 defeat threshold and 100 victory threshold.
As it happens my morale is exactly 100 (Union 93). Not unexpectedly I have not won!
Can anyone however please clarify what the actual effect is.

Apparently Lincoln was defeated in the election and the Peace Democrats won.

I guess you get a negotiated settlement.

Was there no event saying that?

Sorry I wasn't clear.
The election is still to occur in November 1864.
The "event" was merely to announce the start of the election year in January.
The event says that the morale scale switches to 25 defeat threshold and 100 victory threshold.
My (CSA) morale is exactly 100 but I have not won (nor would I have expected to).
I am still however somewhat confused as to what effect the election has and when.

Please check the message again. I think the upper (win) threshold is probably 200, not 100. Also check the F9 Atlas page. That should show what your current win/lose thresholds are. Having 100 NM as the win-threshold would be extremely low, even for January '64.

No, the message was 100 but the atlas did say 175 which I agree would be much more logical!

Then it is likely there is an error in the text. Because file LocalStrings_CW2.csv in the text event (string name - evt_desc_CSA_PresidentialElection1864), written - "Defeat Moral threshold set to 25. Victory Moral threshold set to 100."
