Expanding Rail Capacity

Sat Oct 19, 2013 7:37 pm

First: Awesome game and loving getting to know it.

Question: If I read the manual correctly I have to wait for an event to buy more rail capacity? The info at the top of the screen indicates I am below max and since there isn't much to buy/do early on buying some rail seemed proper, but can't because the event isn't there. Am I missing something? am on turn 2 of campaign.

There is an event in the "varios" tab of the ledger that lets you expand rail and river capacity, but you wont get the event every turn. You get a message in the "scripted events" messages filter telling you when you are able to use that option. I think first turns you dont get the event.

I've played a few more turns, have reached turn when forming Divisions allowed and McDowell is unlocked (but not active - go figure).

Thanks for the feedback - still haven't seen a rail capacity event, although some events for choosing to build ironworks and arsenals has come up.

I played the previous edition quite a bit and am quite happy so far with new game.

To build your rail or riverine capacity check the F3 tab. When they are available they will show up there.
