Replacement ships upgrading to far

Sat Jun 15, 2013 4:26 am

In our massive MP game (conflict in europe), Britain (and to a lesser extent Germany) have had their ship replacements mysteriously build as future units.
For example, if a squadron of wooden screw corvettes loses a ship, it should be replaced, and the game engine used to replace with the newest ship design. Thus you could get an wooden screw corvette squadron with 1 ironclad corvette for example. At some point in our MP game, the engine started to advance the ship replacements.
For example, before I disbanded it, I had a squadron of 2 1920 battleships, with 1 ironclad battleship and 1 wooden screw battleship. I currently have several squadrons with 1905-1920 light cruisers floating about. But I have a mixed squadron with a top ship that is an ironclad.

Below is a picture of the model units. I can only build 1875-1890 cruisers, but I have several 1905-1920 as well. Is there a way to downgrade ships? Also, somewhere in the code, the auto upgrade pushes the unit to the top of the upgrade chain.

The biggest difference is the addition of long range gunnery.

I can provide saves if needed.

Yes, I got a mail about that, this is a serious bug that is probably not trivial to track though, so be a little patient! As soon as I feel I'm can spare some time on that, I'll check it.

On a related matter, when playing as China and receiving wooden warships as part of a script, what actually is delivered are ironclad ships. Also, I tried to get wooden transport ships via script, but those materialized as ironclad warships too. I think China can never have or build ocean-going transport ships on its own, and maybe that's why warships materialized instead of transports.
