Your CTD seems realted to memory usage.

What are you settings regarding memory usage in MainMenu/Options ?

75% is the setting..

I'm having an issue where the game crashes (Direct X to Renderer Invalid Call (Burst Mode), usually involving a .png file when I attempt to scroll around the map after loading Year of Four Emperors. Now, I've only just purchased the game, but the tutorial scenario worked just fine. I get this error under 1.00 and also under 1.01. Would the solution you proposed above also work in my situation?

I did a reinstall before I read your reply and it hasn't given that crash again. I see that 1.02 is now out, so I'm going to apply that as well (I'm getting a crash every few turns, but its a manageable amount). fantastic game by the way. I bought ROP a while back and loved it. I was always too intimidated by PON to try it, but I jumped on AJE as soon as I saw it and I am not disappointed!
