Sertorius scenario Bugs (or features)

Sun Oct 07, 2012 5:22 am

Played the scenario as Rome once more. Few question:

* Metellus and his army of a few legions were sieged in Gades. So I collected a large fleet in Gades to evacuate the army. I know that, if the fleet can't take up the hole army, drop+click doesn't work. HERE it worked, so the icons united, so the army was on the fleet. The fleet then left the harbour - without the army, wo stayed in Gades. Tried again, same result. Of course Gades was not blockaded, just sieged. I remember other scenarios, where the evacuation with ships worked. Whatever it is, it doomed the army...

* Out of interest I tried a useless breakout (I thought using good legions in the marshland of Gades - maybe frontage workes in may favour). Of course it didn't. All 80.000 enemies fought, but only 2-4000 out of my 30-40.000 men. That's a "problem" I've seen shortly after. Metellugs escaped for one turn, only to be sieged in Corduba now. Again a breakout, again 2000 of 20.000 against 60.000. If it is wanted, it should be explained somewhere (maybe it is and I just didn't see it?)

* Commands not taken: Pompejus several times ignored the marching or attack command (other generals too). Maybe it was wanted, but in the message box nothing was mentioned (no "wrong commands by Pompejus" or "low cohesion" - nothing or "army blocked"). He was activated, still didn't move. The "breakout"-button also never worked in my game. THere just was no breakout-try. (EDITH tells me, it propably works like in WiA - so that explains the breakout-button. Edith also tells me, she is quite sure, it's not calles outbreak in english, but who cares about edith? ;) )

* A bug for sure: When the new turn started, I klicked "arrow down" to scroll through the messages. Works fine, but the "arrow up" didn't work. When you had scrolled to message 30 oder 80 or 100 you couldn't go back to meassge one for example.

An other bug from Caesar vs. Pompejus-scenario: Playing Caesar: I got the message, that Pompjeus got the Egypt-event. But it was black written, I had no choice to do anything. A few turns after Egypt fought on Pompejus side. I was not informed nor had I ever gotten any event to go to Egypt myself. Reading an AAR I thought there should have been such an event. By the way: Playing Pompejus I never got a Egypt-event or diplomatic decesion regarding egypt.

Just tried: Not even a single supply-unit can be shipped out, when Gades is sieged, but not blockaded. Is this known or shall I send my files?

I've managed to do the exact same operation, but the same bug(?) happened to me when trying to evacuate Rhodos in the Marius vs. Sulla scenario. Seems like a bug to me.
