Thank you.

We are going to investigate.

In the meanwhile, you can reduce your memory usage allowance (MainMenu/Options ). Should be at 75% (Default Value). Try 50 % or less.

Another crash after I had to reinstall the game (error message "...exe does not work". After hitting the "finish turn" button the main menu opened and it was not possible to continue the game. Another log file attached.

Your game file, Tom.hst, is apparently "in use by other program".

Pocus will have his say, but possible causes may be either your anti-virus program (which one do you use ?) and/or the UAC of Windows 7 (is it disabled ?).

Also, can you check the size of that file (in the save folder ?)

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience

I have AntiVir installed. What is UAC? Cannot check the file size as I had to reinstall the game.

You can try to specify the whole AJE folder as safe or not to be scanned, in your Antivir definitions or settings (specially the AJE.exe file)

UAC is the "User Access Control", a feature of Windows Vista and 7 that supposedly protects the computer but in fact can cause many problems, specially to games. You can try to disable it, via your Control Panel (via something like: > System and Security > Action center > Change definitions of UAC - sorry but I do not know how it is in german). You will find a slider, push it all the way down. You then restart the PC and reinstall the game, and try.

Thanks again

Generally this error (can't open file D:\Spiele\Alea Jacta Est\AJE\Saves\Tom\Tom.hst) is because the said file is empty. This is caused by Windows that prevent proper writing, generally because of UAC.

In your situation, you should backup one turn, just pass the mouse over the turn file and you'll get a description, follow it (this is backspace if memory serves)
