Shortcut Key question...

I you select a force and press the Shift key, various lines in differing colors come forth from the TDM. I'm not clear what these lines mean. The Shorcut Key list explains that this use of Shift will "Display regions and nature of the links" but I don't know what that means. Can anyone explain?

It's the kind of movement link the selected force have with the surrounding regions.
Something like: brown for land link, grey for road link, light blue if they must cross a river, dark blue to adjacent sea regions (meaning you have to embark in some boats to get to that region) etc.
It's useful sometimes to know if you will atack across a river or not when the map graphics are not very clear about it.
