Fixed Units

Mon Jul 07, 2014 2:49 am

Hi

I have noticed when fixed units inside a city are besieged that the unit does not seem to become "un-fixed".
This can result in units besieging a city while units remain fixed inside the city and submit to starvation etc.
I feel that even the most untrained units would try to break the siege rather than starve - particularly when they are actually be stronger than the attackers

Is there a reason why fixed units remain fixed when they are besieged?

regards

Mark

Hi

"Permanently" fixed units are only garrison units, so what you describe is as intended.

You can station them outside of tthe city so they can try to fight off the besiegers. You need a bigger power than normal to win in this way as I think "sallying" has a malus.
