Sertorious and his goals

Wed Apr 03, 2013 4:18 am

I read a bit of Sertorious and the Legacy of Sulla which I found at my university library. I have to admit I did not read it all, but from what I read it sounds like Sertorious should have some way to add Rome and Italy to his war goals/strategic cities list because while many of his Hispania allies wouldn't have wanted to invade Italy, he most likley did. Also his italian soldiers and allies would have been desperate to get back to Rome.

Part two is why is Sertorious at war with Spartacus. I understand Setorious fought the slaves when Marius took over, and I must admit that I enjoy rescuing Rome from the slaves, but sometimes it is stated that Spartacus and Sertorious were possibly in discussions about an alliance so their war seems rather strange, and an alliance should be an offer.
