has anyone played as Pontus and actually won?
i keep trying and trying, but even the troops from the roman vassals of cappacdocia and ankyra are kicking my arse
and assaulting all my cities......

The biggest problem Pontus has, is in supply. In my game I'm doing reasonably well so far, but supplying the armies Pontus needs to win is a pain.

Also, on historical attrition your army will be gone or you will be bankrupt and have your army desert after a year, year and a half.

There might be something wrong with the money in this one (I suspect one of the options you can choose to send money to allies to harrass the Romans might be the culpit). I have had my money go from 750 to 0 in 3 turns, without excessive spending on my part. There is already a post about this, the devs are looking into it.

yes i think your right, i tend not to bother with the allies option as sertorious seems to do ok without any help from me.....
