Johannes of Gischala

Mon Oct 08, 2012 11:55 pm

I am playing the Four Emperors scenario. One of the leaders of the Jewish Revolt is Johannes Gischala. I am playing the English version. in English, this leader is given as John of Giscala. Perhaps a better flavour name for the leader would be Yohanan ben Levi.

In the battle detail screeen (the second screen), there are not enough characters to display Vespasianus' name properly. He is displayed as 'Augustus Flavius Sabinus' rather than 'Flavius Sabinus Vespasianus'.

His name shouldn't include Augustus anyway? I'm assuming that that's a title he was awarded after becoming the emperor officially.

Yes, Vespasianus became Emperor in 70 AD. He assumed the title Augustus by 74 AD in order to distinguish himself from his son and heir, Titus, who had the title Augustus filius.
