Changing the music

Mon Aug 27, 2012 1:38 pm

I have read some people complaining about the game's music. I have found it OK. Anyway, if you desire to change the main theme, it's quite easy. Put your favourite mp3 theme in the folder AJE/Sounds. Then rename AJE_Main_Theme.mp3 with another name. Now rename your favourite theme with that name, i. e., AJE_Main_Theme.mp3. Start your game and hear the new music.
In my case I have chosen "Now we are free", from the Gladiator soundtrack.

Well, this is the first mod ever for a non-released game! :)

Alternatively, if you don't like the other tracks, the ambient music, then you need to edit the file Musics.ini :

Music0 = AJE_Main_Theme.mp3
Music1 = AJE_Ambiance_01.mp3
Music2 = AJE_Ambiance_02.mp3
Music3 = AJE_Ambiance_03.mp3
Music4 = AJE_Ambiance_04.mp3
Music5 = AJE_Ambiance_05.mp3
Music6 = AJE_Ambiance_06.mp3
Music7 = AJE_Ambiance_07.mp3
Music8 = AJE_Ambiance_08.mp3
Music9 = AJE_Main_Theme.mp3

Put your new mp3 files in the Sounds folder. Rename the entries for the Musics.ini with the names of your new mp3, putting at the front AJE_xxx.mp3. Save it. That's all.

I for my part love the music ... very smooth and it takes you away a bit, just suits the roman timeframe :bonk:

remembers me on the HBO mini series, when asking for the more cheerful tune, the officer signals to play tune three (out of three most possibly)... hard to do more without mouthpiece :wacko:
...not paid by AGEOD.
however, prone to throw them into disarray.

"Gracchus, something more cheerful!"

Ah yes, great scene from a great show.

A favorite line of mine from that same scene...

Mark Antony - "You're about to march into Rome as a blood stained conqueror, and yet you look as calm as a cup of water."

Caesar - "I'm glad I appear so."

As far as the music goes, I usually just mute it after giving it a taste, then load up winamp and hit play on my favorites list. Pretty simple these days with multitasking windows and 4 million gigs of RAM.

Just switched the music to the music of "Europa Universalis - Rome" and the renaming isn't necessary as it seems, you simply have to list the tracks with there names in the music.ini file.
What wonders me is that the original main theme is twice listed, maybe the track at Music0 is only used for main menu instead for the in-game music, at least it's played when starting the game.

Thanks god finally clear music!
